This site has been developed for an island resort in Northern Wisconsin. The site needed to reflect the beautiful atmosphere of the place, doing justice to the ambience of the main lodge and the surrounding cabins. To achieve this it was important that all sections of the entire site were easy to access with detailed information and photographs of every room. We incorporated a number of photo galleries that provided exposure to all the recreational and lodging opportunities. The website is flexible and can easily expand and change.

 
This is primarily an e-commerce site, the store front for a specific hand made product called a-bandz. It currently has twenty five colors, five styles that come in six sizes. Challenge was to develop a website that was able to showcase an ever expanding catalog of a-bandz as well as have the ability for a user to customize their own, using the options for style, colors, number of colors (1 to 3) and size. The website serves as the central piece in all of the company’s branding and marketing efforts.

The challenge was to create an informational site that would appeal to students and their parents. It was a conscious design decision to avoid a typical institutional looking website but instead have a celebratory look and feel to it. At the same time it serves the function of easily finding pertinent local information and numerous educational resource links.

In order to showcase the client’s services, we used three case studies and a series of photo galleries to illustrate how their exceptional design skills and landscape services created beautiful transformations. The site is simple to navigate and allows for easy expansion and additions like testimonials and portfolio pictures.

#2 Brevity:
Is it short enough to be easily recalled and used? Will it resist being reduced to a nickname? Long multi-word names will be quickly shortened to non-communicating initials.

#3 Appropriateness:
Is there a reasonable fit with the business purpose of the entity? If it would work just as well—or better—for another entity, keep looking.

#4 Easy Spelling and Pronunciation:
Will most people be able to spell the name after hearing it spoken? Will they be able to pronounce it after seeing it written? A name shouldn’t turn into a spelling test or make people feel ignorant.
